What's the one thing I should remember about caring for my new board?
Your Knotty & Nice board is a handcrafted and a naturally derived item, which means care is needed when handling and cleaning. Refurbish using grape seed oil, and if needed, a light sand to bring it back to its former condition.
What cleaning routines do you recommend?
Handwash only. Ideally with dishwashing liquid & warm water.
Any tips for making sure the boards last for years to come?
- This product can be easily maintained by re-oiling with grapeseed oil (every 3-6 months would be optimum).
- If scratching occurs, this can be easily resurrected by going over it with fine sandpaper & re-oiling with grapeseed oil. 2 - 3 coats are recommended.
- To remove stains or odours, sprinkle coarse salt on the surface, rub with a cut lemon, and rinse. For persistent odours, a baking soda paste can help neutralise smells.
What should I absolutely avoid doing?
Please do not put this in a dishwasher. Extreme heat could cause damage.
